Company description:

Mine Kafon is an R&D Lab where innovation takes place. With a multidisciplinary team, sustainable solutions for environmental and social problems are developed. Nowadays, Mine Kafon develops innovative systems driven by engineering and creativity.

Mine Kafon offers a range of solutions aimed at UXO (unexploded ordnance) clearance following conflict, by making use of disruptive technologies. The MKD flies over dangerous areas, maps them, detects landmines and detonates them from a safe distance. The drone works autonomously, equipped with three separate interchangeable robotic extensions. These three methodologies combined make the MKD up to 20 times faster than traditional demining technologies. Apart from being a safer solution, it is also up to 200 times cheaper than the solutions currently used.

Responsibilities:

  • Create awareness of and develop the Mine Kafon brand;
  • Help with marketing plans, advertising, direct marketing and campaigns;
  • Write and proofread marketing content for both online and print campaigns;
  • Produce creative content, including videos and blog posts, such as YouTube;
  • Run social media channels (e.g. Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn) to enhance audience engagement;
  • Engage in sponsorship activities;
  • Conduct market research, for example using customer questionnaires and focus groups;
  • Plan, develop and implement PR strategies;
  • Liaise with, and answer inquiries from media, individuals and other organisations, often via telephone and email;
  • Research, write and distribute press releases to targeted media;
  • Collect and analyse media coverage;
  • Prepare and supervise the production of publicity brochures, handouts, direct mail leaflets, promotional videos, photographs, films;
  • Devise and coordinate photo opportunities;
  • Organise events including press conferences, lectures, exhibitions, open days;
  • Maintain and update information on the organisation’s website;
  • Develop relationships with key stakeholders both internal and external.

Skills:

  • Good written and spoken communication skills;
  • The ability to think strategically;
  • Copywriting and design skills in order to produce marketing materials for both print and online;
  • An eye for detail;
  • Ability to use editing programs such as iMovie, Adobe Photoshop;
  • Ability to use the camera, make pictures and videos;
  • Analytical skills to evaluate marketing campaigns;
  • Drive and self-motivation;
  • Teamwork and the ability to foster good working relationships;
  • Influencing and negotiation skills;
  • Skills in IT and social media;
  • Numeracy skills.

Requirements:

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Advertising, Business, Management, Communication, Marketing or any related studies;
  • Legal permit to stay and work in the Netherlands;
  • Previous internship or working experience;
